New Economic Impact Survey: Please Give Us Your Voice!

We're calling on all artists, musicians, music business and industry professionals to participate in the new Creative Saskatchewan Economic Impact Survey. How much money really goes around in our industry? The results of the survey will help us build a stronger, healthier industry for all of us. Anyone who made ANY income in 2014 and/or 2015 from gigs, royalties, teaching music lessons, running a music business should participate - even if you spent more money than you earned on music! We also want to hear from any business that regularly hires musicians (venues, talent buyers, etc).

This survey will better position Creative Saskatchewan (and those funded by Creative Saskatchewan, including SaskMusic and our members) to demonstrate and celebrate the full value and importance of the creative industries to Saskatchewan’s economic growth.

Click here to participate in the Economic Impact Survey

The survey will close February 29, 2016. For privacy purposes, information is being collected by an independent third party (Praxis Consulting) and will remain strictly confidential.

Sled Island Music & Arts Festival: Call for Artists

Deadline: February 15

Since 2007, Sled Island's thoughtful, eclectic programming and independent spirit have fused with Calgary's youthful energy to produce a one-of-a-kind festival experience. Each June, the five-day music and arts festival brings together a community of over 250 bands, visual artists, filmmakers and comedians as well as over 30,000 attendees in more than 30 venues, transforming the city into an arts lover's paradise that has earned rave reviews from artists, fans and media from across the globe.

A diverse listening committee made up of festival staff, musicians and industry professionals from across Western Canada will assess submissions for quality as well as fit with the festival’s vision and schedule. The quality of the music submitted is far more important to our committee than production quality, promotional photos, live footage or media coverage, although these things can help us assess your fit with Sled Island. In short, the listening committee is hoping to be excited by your music and the thought of seeing you at Sled Island 2016.
