Sask-Manitoba Showcase at CCMAs
The Saskatchewan Country Music Association and Manitoba Country Music Association, with support from SaskMusic and Manitoba Music, will be presenting a showcase at Canadian Country Music Week in Edmonton.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Delta Hotels Edmonton Centre Suites, 10222 102 St NW, Edmonton.
Application Deadline: August 15, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
Applications are being accepted from SCMA artist members in good standing to perform at this event. This performance opportunity is for artists already attending Country Music Week and who would like to perform at this event in addition to any scheduled performances. The SCMA will not be providing compensation for travel or accommodations.
Performance slots are 20 to 30 minutes and are acoustic. They can accommodate up to three vocalists and four instrumentalists. Mostly original material is preferred.
Performance schedule and slot times will be announced after application deadline.
Please provide an artist promo picture that will be used for social media promotion of the event. Also include a short one-paragraph bio with current career highlights to be used by the host for introductions. Please specify your preferred slot time between 12:00 and 4:45 p.m.
They will try to accommodate all interested MCMA and SCMA artists, however, please be aware they have limited slots which will be prioritized based on the level of activity and participation in CCMA activities.
In the event that more SCMA artists apply than available slots, an independent panel of out-of-province industry professionals with no connections to the SCMA board will choose artists based on “readiness to launch onto the national country music scene” as an over-arching criteria for selection.
Slot times may be extended or reduced in time at the organizer’s discretion.
Please send applications by email to doug.sylvester@sasktel.net
