Saskatchewan Application
Kickoff August 28-29, 2020
Application Deadline August 9 (midnight), 2021

SaskMusic, in partnership with the Canadian Council of Music Industry Associations (CCMIA) and Bell Media, is pleased to announce a hybrid version of this annual songwriting event!

In this online retreat, launching digitally August 28, with scheduled and unscheduled work and mentor sessions in the following days and weeks, ten songwriters will be selected and organized into pairs to collaborate on new songs.

Each pair will be matched with a unique mentor and producer to work with throughout the process, along with the digital tools needed to set groups up for success with song creation. Those chosen for this event will receive some digital instruction on co-writing etiquette and agreements, songwriting technique, Zoom co-writing tips and tricks, and will have an opportunity to network and establish permanent collaborative partnerships with mentors and participants.

Showcase Opportunity: Come Together | Canada’s Coast-to-Coast Artist Showcase & Industry Mingler
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, August 9 at 11:59 ET

It’s time to get back on stage and reconnect in person with fans, industry, and other artists! Six music industry associations -- Music BC, Alberta Music, Sask Music, Manitoba Music, Music Nova Scotia, Music Ontario and CIMA -- are working together to present two days of industry showcases and meetings in Toronto this November.

Come Together is an opportunity for export-ready artists from across Canada to meet with, build business relationships, and showcase for key music industry professionals from Toronto and surrounding areas including labels, agents, managers, publishers, music supervisors, publicists, and more. Participants will work directly with their music industry association to identify key music business contacts to invite and meet with. This event has goals beyond showcasing with a push towards industry connections, team building and business strategies for both artists and businesses. Selected artists will be provided with an honorarium.

SSAIC

Supporting Survivors of Sexualized Violence Training

presented in partnership with the Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Centre, September 7, 2021 from 1-4pm (online)

Supporting Survivors of Sexualized Violence Training (SST) is a program created by SSAIC and designed to train professionals and community members alike to receive disclosures and support survivors in a compassionate and trauma-informed way.

Survivors of sexualized violence have experienced a trauma, and deserve to be treated with care and compassion. Survivors report that the way they are supported when they first disclose has a significant impact on their self-worth, resilience, and healing. With this training, we hope to equip as many people as possible with the tools to best communicate, understand, and guide them to their next steps to begin their healing.
