This September, Saskatoon based pop duo Too Soon Monsoon (TSM) is releasing the first tastes of new music from their upcoming debut full-length album. The two songs, "Ocean" and "Mountains of Blue" offer a preview of the direction that band is taking with this new album. The singles will be released to all streaming services while the band tours Western Canada in September. This new music was inspired by the band's journey through the Rocky Mountains last fall, so returning to these Mountains of Blue on their way to the Ocean during this tour will be extra special. These fall dates are in the lead-up to the band's Breakout West 2018 showcase performances.
TSM has been busy in the studio, recording this album once again with Adam Grant, who previously worked with the band on their two 2017 EPs (Side Effects, Little Fire). Too Soon Monsoon’s debut full-length record is a concept album that carries the listener on an emotional journey along with the band while speaking to universal themes like interconnectedness, growing up, love, seeking purpose and slowing down to appreciate and reconnect with yourself, one another, nature, art and spirit. Being a two-piece band that consists of an Indigenous drummer and a non-Indigenous singer/keyboardist, TSM’s goal is to create music and art that can bring people from different cultures and backgrounds closer together. The new album is scheduled to be released in Spring 2019.
