Andrew Bennett (stage name ‘Factor Eight’), local composer and music producer, is a finalist in
Nashville’s ‘Unsigned Only’ music competition. Out of 6000 entries from around the world, it’s
been narrowed down to just 14 in the ‘screenshot’ category, including Andrew’s instrumental
orchestral/electronic piece, ‘Élan’.

Highlighting music tailor-made for use with visual media, the screenshot category was the
perfect opportunity for ‘Factor Eight’ to shine. For the last 5 years, Andrew has been making
waves in the music and film industries both locally and internationally, starting out by simply
sharing his music online in 2013. He has since amassed a captivated online audience with tracks
like ‘The Beginning’ and ‘Life is but a Dream’ from his debut 2016 album, ‘Dust’, and created
original scores on some ambitious visual media projects. Andrew’s passion is collaborating with
fellow artists of multiple media’s, having now worked with prestigious brands like GMC, So You
Think You Can Dance, Jaybird, and Gillette, to name a few.

Andrew is currently creating his second full-length album that will straddle the boundaries of his
orchestral electronic genre. You can also hear his latest work at Nuit Blanche on September 28th
where he’ll showcase an art installation with fellow artists Kenton Doupe and Anthony Bischoff
to follow-up their highly received Nuit Blanche 2017 piece ‘Lodestar’.

While the winner of this highly competitive music competition and a prize amount of $20,000
USD will be determined by celebrity judges like Grouplove, David Crowder, and Canada’s own
Melanie Fiona, you can help Andrew out by voting for the people’s choice ‘Fandemonium’
award once per day until August 14th: Vote for ‘Élan’ in the ‘Unsigned Only’ music competition here:
