New blues-funk rock Prairie Gold, fronted by Scott Pettigrew, released their debut self-titled album at the Artful Dodger in Regina on June 14 alongside musicians and art vendors, presented by Taylor Ross-Robinson Photography. The release party featured friends Computer Sweat, Brodie Moniker, Cristian Moya, Ava Wild, and Bennett Q. A western Canadian tour was planned following the release, but the band unfortunately had to cancel it due to drummer Joshua’s deteriorating health conditions. SaskMusic sends their best wishes to Joshua and hopes for a speedy recovery. Prairie Gold is sure to be on the road once Josh regains his health, and until then, their album is available on all major streaming services. In addition to Prairie Gold, Pettigrew has joined the Scott Richmond Band as a guitar player. As a solo artist, Pettigrew also recently opened for Serena Ryder at her Regina Jazz Festival date, alongside his tour companion, Ava Wild.
