On February 14-15/2017, Dick MacInnis releases “Black and Blue”, his first full length album since 2009’s “Everything You’ve Heard About Love,” and the long-awaited second installment in his “Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll” trilogy. It is the quintessential “breakup album” having been written while MacInnis was in the process of divorce, addiction, and subsequent recovery from both. MacInnis will be performing the new album in its entirety, as well as many past and unreleased hits, at the special two night album release show at Bud’s on Broadway, Saskatoon (https://www.facebook.com/dickmacinnis).

Jadius has begun recording a new full-length album at Studio One with Jason Plumb, with a first single anticipated to be released in February/March. Jadius is teaming up with JJ Voss for the ”No Gig Too Far Tour” this spring/summer ; the two will be playing solo sets, and will also be doing some duets. The Western leg will be in May and the Eastern leg in June. And, inspirational pop ballad “The View” is currently being promoted to European radio (www.jadius.ca).

Kaeli Dane released new album “Stay” on January 14. Written on her travels over 3 continents, it “tells of an adventure I never planned to go on and a story I didn’t write,” with songs written about family, love, heartbreak and faith (https://kaelidane.bandcamp.com).

Regina & Toronto-based group Folk Sanctuary have released their debut studio songs with help from FACTOR, on the path to recording their first full-length album. “Song From the Universe,” the first single, is a folk-world instrumental, while “Kimisi, Ellatha Greece” is a lively Mediterranean-influenced song. They feature flute, tabla, and guitars. Marie-Véronique Bourque (flute), Nadeem Naz (tabla), John Hatzitolios (guitar/vocals), and Morgan Hughes (lead guitar) each have years of experience with bands such as the Regina Symphony Orchestra, Jack Semple, Funkenstein, Free Range, U of R Jazz Big Band, Neurotic Paperboys and many more. Working with talented producer Mark Schmidt at Northern Town Music, and with assistance from Creative Saskatchewan, Folk Sanctuary looks to have their full-length out soon (www.folksanctuary.com).
