Prairie sweethearts, co-writers and crib opponents Belle Plaine and Blake Berglund are hitting the road again from BC to SK in late November into early December. Belle and Blake have merged the distinct styles that define their careers. She’s a modern day folk singer with a touch of 1940s swing. He’s a twangy storyteller who’s influenced by the outlaws of country music. Think Johnny and June, with a touch of Joni and The Band. Their live show is a classic double-bill with a twist: Belle and Blake will each perform a set of their own material, and will come together to close the night with a selection of duets including “Town to Town” and “Saskatchewan” from their 2015 vinyl release, Kris Kristofferson’s “Chase The Feeling”, Ian & Sylvia’s “Summer Wages” and the crowd favourite “Mercury Blues” which was originally released in 1952 by K.C. Douglas. They will be joined by guitarist, Bryce Lewis.
"Belle Plaine and Blake Berglund are the epitome of sincerity. Unarguably talented in their own right, together, the chemistry is truly remarkable." Del Barber

ABOUT BELLE PLAINE
Belle Plaine is a small town prairie kid who grew up to be a singer/songwriter, sure-shot hunter, and wannabe horsewoman. Raised in the farming community of Fosston, Saskatchewan, her distinctive sound draws on a wide-ranging musical background, and years of professional vocal training (formal study at MacEwan University). Belle’s singular and textured voice lends itself to various styles of music, from outlaw country to 1940s swing, and adds a smoky, sultry touch to every song she sings. She’s been likened to Patsy Cline, Emmylou Harris, and Jill Barber yet her style is original. She’s credited with releases Hello from Belle Plaine (2011), Notes From A Waitress (2012), Town To Town/Saskatchewan (2015), and The Unrequited Love(2016). In Dec 2016 she will fulfill her dream of performing with an orchestra thanks to a collaboration with the Regina Symphony Orchestra and their inaugural “Candlelight Christmas”.

ABOUT BLAKE BERGLUND
Blake Berglund's fresh style of country music is unpredictable, intelligent, genuine, and a pleasant surprise to some, given his hard-rock/pseudo-metal background. His grassroots approach has earned him a reputation as "the guy who sold 10,000 CD's door-to-door." Raised in the Moose Mountains deep in Saskatchewan's south east corner, Berglund took his early childhood responsibilities of tending to 200 head of horses as the education needed to base his music career around hard work and cultivating relationships.
Having released four full-length albums and numerous collaborative projects, his 2016 double-single Word's Gettin' Around/Funny Thing About You Leaving will be followed up with his fifth studio album, Realms, in early 2017 - a concept record about the breadth of the human experience. Berglund is a regular collaborator with Quinton Blair as well as with partner, Belle Plaine. He is currently devoted to a creative journalism project in which he toured the United States for five weeks to reclaim the Spirit of American Country Music.
