Description
Marentin Fehr is a young Indigenous singer/songwriter and producer based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. From dreamy, acoustic numbers, to uplifting pop tunes, and even punchy indie rock, his music is consistently sprinkled with optimism while being firmly grounded in reality. Fehr released his debut EP, Tonight’s Performer, in August of 2018. He has since received several nominations for provincial and national awards, including Indigenous Artist of the Year at the 2018 Saskatchewan Music Awards, and Best Pop Album at the 2018 Indigenous Music Awards. Fehr participates in activism in the music community by teaching music lessons for free or low cost to Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in his community.
His debut full length album, Core, is set to release in February 2020.

The debut EP from this nineteen-year-old indie rock/folk songwriter was created entirely by the young artist. Fehr played all the instruments, wrote and performed the songs, and recorded it in a home studio in Leoville SK. The album is a personal ‘coming of age’ record that focuses on the transitional period of Fehr moving to a new city and getting serious about a musical career; and the struggles that come along with it. There is some experimentation with acapella vocals, especially in the track ‘Sin,’ and a lot of influences from various Canadian indie bands that shaped Fehr’s songwriting.
