Sean Burns is a hugely talented Canadian singer-songwriter who plays a brand of country music from way out on the left of the mainstream.

Sean Burns was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. His passion for music was sparked early in his life, as his dad was a musician and played with a number of bands during Sean’s formative years. Sean has been a full-time musician since the age of seventeen; first in his dad’s bands, then with other players and eventually as an independent artist. He currently resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Traditional country music is Sean’s passion. From dance hall shuffles to the electric honky-tonk of the Bakersfield sound, and all the way down to tender ballads, he plays his brand of country music with unparalleled enthusiasm. With songs of trains and trucks, drinkers and drunks, he performs music for dancing and romancing. He released his fourth full-length album, Music for Taverns, Bars, and Honky Tonks, in 2018. Inspired by legends such as Ray Price, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Bush, the album was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.

Although Sean regularly performs with his band, Lost Country, he will be performing solo for his GrassRoots Regina appearance.
