    SaskMusicIMP LabsGirls Rock Regina present:
The Second Edition of our Femme Sound Workshop Series:
    Sound Tools
    Tuesday, January 15, 7-10pm
The IMP Labs at the U of R (Riddell Centre room 049)
You are welcome to attend part two even if you didn't attend part one.
Coffee and light nibbles will be provided.

For those who have not been to the IMP Labs before, they can be a bit tough to find and are located in the basement of the visual arts department in the Riddell Centre (room 049). Enter through the main Riddell Centre doors, turn left and walk straight (past the Owl, past Henderson's) until you see the Common Ground coffee shop. Take a right, and the doors to the basement are located to the right of the confectionery.

In this second workshop we will dive into the specifics of an audio console, learning about analogue and digital mixers and taking an in-depth look of a channel strip. We will talk about pre-amps, phase, parametric EQs, Dynamic processing, buss sends, inputs vs. outputs, inserts, VCAs and effects. A basic intro to mixing, what these tools are and how they are used in your mix.

Jill Mack is a freelance sound tech living in Saskatoon. She tours with The Pack A.D, a garage-rock duo from Vancouver, as their FOH engineer and works at various venues around the city when not on the road. She has also recorded local musician, Ellen Froese’s first full length self-titled LP and plans to record their second album this winter.

When she is not at a show, or consumed in the nerd-files of audio, Jill indulges in some of her favourite hobbies such as sleeping, a little yoga and sad attempts at playing drums.

This workshop is FREE for children and adults alike. You do not need to be a SaskMusic member to attend. Although this workshop is designed for a Femme Audience, all genders are welcome to attend. Please email brittney@saskmusic.org with any questions!
