The SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival is now accepting applications from secondary and post-secondary students for the TD Jazz Intensive education program. Supporting the musicians of tomorrow by providing opportunities that will assist in their development, the week-long program runs from June 25th - June 30th as part of the annual Festival.

Under the guidance of distinguished jazz educators, participants are immersed in jazz workshops and performances which culminate with a featured public performance at The Bassment jazz club, at 1pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018 during the annual SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.

“The TD Jazz Intensive is a one of a kind experience for musicians looking to further their artistic horizons in a program that is creative, collaborative, and challenging”, said Artistic Director Kevin Tobin. “With a wealth of knowledge and experience provided by a world class faculty, participants are immersed in full day workshops and performances throughout the Festival. It is a great opportunity for musicians looking to improve their musical chops.”

“The TD Jazz Intensive music education is a unique jazz-specific educational initiative,” said Program Coordinator and UofS Professor of Brass & Jazz Dean McNeill. “The program is a testament to the importance of continually supporting our students, who need this experience of working in close quarters with top-notch jazz educators and this unique educational project makes experience based learning possible in very special ways.”

Applications will be open from Monday, April 2nd until Friday, May 18th. For complete details and how to apply visit saskjazz.com/tdjazzintensive.
