An Evening with The Local Group and special guest Clayton Linthicum at the Broadway Theatre

Who

The Local Group - Young bluegrass/folk band in Saskatoon
Clayton Linthicum (Kacy & Clayton)

When

  • June 14, 2023 - Showtime: 7:30pm

Join us for a rare and intimate night of acoustic music featuring Saskatoon’s bluegrass boy band The Local Group, and singer-guitarist Clayton Linthicum of folk duo Kacy and Clayton.

Friends and bandmates since high school, the Local Group have crisscrossed western Canada, playing festivals including Blueberry Bluegrass Festival, Ness Creek, and the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, opening for Corb Lund in small town Cadillac, SK, and entertaining at just about any other kind of show you can think of: theatres, dive bars, schools, art galleries, house concerts, weddings, baby showers and old-time dances. The band comprises Elliot Dillabough on guitar, Jaxon Lalonde (also of Jake Vaadeland and the Sturgeon River Boys) on banjo, Ethan Peters on stand-up bass, fiddle and harmonica, Aussie import Justin Vilchez on mandolin and Olivia Morelli on fiddle. Following the release of their sophomore album Nero's Waltz last summer (produced by Clayton Linthicum) the Local Group continues to push the boundaries of their acoustic sound with creativity, skill, tight three-part harmonies and a good sense of humour. Their debut performance at the Broadway Theatre lands perfectly in the middle of a lengthy spring tour of Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC.

About Clayton Linthicum:

Building a discography of five albums since 2011, Kacy & Clayton delivered a pair of critically acclaimed records The Siren’s Song [2017] and Carrying On [2019] produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco. Beyond praise from Q Magazine, Uncut, and more, they racked up millions of streams and toured with Wilco and The Decemberists, to name a few. Clayton has toured as a member of the Deep Dark Woods, and performs with an impressive roster of artists including Ellen Froese, Nutana (with the Sheepdogs’ Sam Corbett), and his honky-tonk cover band The Salt Licks.
