The achievements of rock ‘n’ roll heavyweights The Trews are many and mighty, highlighted by multiple radio hits drawn from seven critically acclaimed studio albums plus several EPs, a pair of live records, and a retrospective. Among the most prolific, electrifying, and innovative bands on the planet, The Trews — singer/guitarist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, drummer Chris Gormley, and keyboardist Jeff Heisholt — have shared stages with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Weezer, Bruce Springsteen to Rich Robinson, the latter collaboration culminating in three blazing tracks on the band’s latest, Wanderer (out November 19th), cut in Nashville with the onetime Black Crowes guitarist.
Amid the global pandemic, which halted both the Nashville sessions and tour plans for 2018’s epic Civilianaires album, The Trews completed Wanderer at home in Canada with producers Derek Hoffman and Eric Ratz, emerging with their fiercest and most accomplished set of songs to date, and a heck of backstory to boot.
The Trews have had 21 Top 10 singles on Rock radio in Canada, 5 Gold Certified albums, 1 Gold Certified single and 1 Platinum Certified single and received numerous JUNO Award nominations, including rock album of the year for their 2018 album Civilianaires. Their first single from the upcoming Wanderer, “I Wanna Play,” is their most recent single to crack the Top 10 on rock radio.
“They (The Trews) have established themselves as one of the country’s top rock acts, packing venues from coast to coast and cultivating a growing fan base in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.” - Doug Gallant, The Guardian
“If you want a night of hard rocking, loud music, you can go see a hundred bands. But if you want it loud, hard rocking, and you’re looking for quality songs and musicianship, go see The Trews.” - One Stage Magazine, NYC
