Coming November 13 and 14 to Side Door - the inaugural Producer Program, an online conference and certificate program for aspiring show producers and moderators. The two-day series features webinars and workshops on the art of hosting, troubleshooting, and elevating how online and in-person performances are presented.

As virtual performances have established a new (and necessary) avenue for artists to connect with audiences and their communities, the role of the online show producer has proven to be an invaluable asset in developing and executing a successful online show. 

A Producer can contribute in a variety of capacities, including:

• Assisting with the set-up of the show

• Coaching the artist through the technical production

• Offering facilitation

• Managing audience engagement during the event

All of which allows the artist time and space to focus on rehearsal and performance. As demand increases for host involvement in the production of online shows, as new employment opportunities are needed in the digital landscape, Side Door has developed a low cost ($10 CAD) training program for participants to learn the art of hosting in the online sphere while gaining knowledge, tools and confidence to support artists in producing shows.
