GrassRoots Regina is pleased to present award-winning British folk trio, The Young’uns, in concert.

When

  • November 5, 2019 - Doors at: 7:15pm / Showtime: 8:00pm

The Young’uns are renowned for their pitch-perfect harmonies and rapid-fire humour; their live shows have the human touch, always engaging and heart-warming.

The Young’uns specialize in singing a cappella or subtly accompanied traditional shanties and contemporary songs along with their original compositions. Songs of conscience, songs of warmth and wit, songs to provoke and songs to inspire.

They released their first studio album, When Our Grandfathers Said No, in 2012. Since then they have released three subsequent albums: Never Forget (2014), Another Man’s Ground (2015), Strangers (2017). The Young’uns received the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ‘Best Group’ title two years running (2015 and 2016) and ‘Best Album’ award for Strangers in 2018.

In the space of little more than a decade - and just five years after giving up their day jobs - they have become one of UK folk music’s hottest properties and best-loved acts. Beguiling audiences around the world, they seamlessly switch from beautiful ballads to brilliant banter, from profoundly poignant songs to infectiously irreverent humour. This, combined with their passion for storytelling and commitment to maintaining the tradition of social commentary, has led to five-star reviews, live sessions on BBC Radio 2, Radio 3 and documentaries on Radio 4, as well as countless sold-out shows and mainstage festival appearances throughout the UK and abroad.
