Protosequence - Edmonton’s own Protosequence offer a rush of groovy guitar parts met with story-filled lyrics and serene, landscape-sized instrumentals that roll like hills into a valley.

Protosequence was formed in the spring of 2014 by 5 guys who shared the same goal: create an array of songs that reflected each one of them personally. As autumn approached, the band started to play in Edmonton, as well as central/southern Alberta. Releasing their debut 4 song EP "Schizophrene" in January 2016, they quickly established a name for themselves in the Edmonton and surrounding area metal scene. Bassist Ryan Schaffler left the band in early 2017, with Jacob Teeple filling the vacancy seamlessly. After taking to the road, completing a 10 day tour of Western Canada in June, they hit the studio and released their sophomore 4 song EP "Biophagous" in August 2017. 2018 saw Protosequence solidify and expand their following around Western Canada. Playing Armstrong and Metallion Festival, touring through BC, as well as sharing the stage with touring acts like The Faceless, Angelmaker, Ingested, Signs of the Swarm, Bodysnatcher, Protest the Hero, Archspire and more. In August 2018 vocalist Joseph Mckee announced his retirement from Protosequence with guitarist Kyle Hunter following suit a few weeks later.

Protosequence quickly added Josh Hahn to the mix on vocals. After seeing him perform with his band Seraphic Nihilist at Metallion Festival over the summer, the band convinced him to move from Prince George, BC to the motherland: Edmonton, Alberta. With no luck finding a second guitarist, the band pressed on into writing mode

In Ruin - In Ruin has been a well known Saskatchewan name for some time now, having started their trudge through the Western Canadian scene 9 years ago. At the beginning In Ruin took their time in finding their roots, fine-tuning and perfecting their sound over many lineup changes, and eventually bringing their creativity to fruition in the form of their 2016 debut album "Murmurs" - an exemplification of their passionate style, and lack of stylistic limitations.
After the release of "Murmurs" In Ruin celebrated many victories, such as the release of their debut music video for "This Ain't No Romance Novel, It's Just A Sweet Potato", recognition from various podcasts/online radio stations, embarking on a Central Canadian tour, and opening for All That Remains in their hometown - Saskatoon.
Now, on the cusp of releasing their follow up EP "Illuminausea", In Ruin is ready to set out once more - with new blood, new music, and a new lease on their passion for creating and performing music. Stay tuned for their impending EP release, and many more developments for 2019, including tour dates - and much more.

Embracing abomination - So I’ve got this “cause” / this intention / it fuels my image / An obsessive-compulsive tendency I exploit for the sake of this / And I’ll dissect and assess the sickness exactly for what it is / all the conversion disorder symptoms or whatever you want to call it / Embracing Abomination is both the treatment and the disease / 12 Steps around the healing / and I know acceptance is key / So comfort is what you’re “needing” / but through struggle we find relief / Now suffer like you mean it / for this rage will set you free
