GrassRoots Regina is pleased to present Toronto’s exceptionally talented bluegrass quartet The Slocan Ramblers in concert.

The Slocan Ramblers are Canada’s young bluegrass band to watch. Rooted in the tradition, fearlessly creative, and possessing a bold, dynamic sound, they have quickly become a leading light of Canada’s roots music scene.

The Slocan Ramblers (2019 Juno Award nominees) formed in 2009 and is comprised of Frank Evans (banjo), Adrian Gross (mandolin), Darryl Poulsen (guitar) and Alastair Whitehead (bass). The band began as a fun project for the four young musicians who were passionate about bluegrass music. They started out playing casual pub gigs but quickly became a staple of Toronto’s thriving acoustic music scene. Since then, they have transcended their bar-gig roots, performing at a multitude of prestigious folk/roots venues and festivals across Canada, the United States and England.

Rooted in the bluegrass tradition, fearlessly creative, and possessing a bold, dynamic sound, they have grown into a focused and exciting group, garnering attention far beyond their traditional bluegrass fan base. From lightning fast and devilishly intricate instrumentals, with sparkling vocal harmonies, to the haunting melody of an old waltz, The Slocan Ramblers have something for everyone.
