Evita is a true historical story of Eva Peron. It is a musical by the iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Eva grows up in Argentina during the 1930’s and witnesses a tumultuous time of political unrest and great poverty across the nation. She dreams of a better life and moves to Buenos Aries where she sees that not all live in poverty. Her good looks, along with her singing and acting, help her land roles on the radio and in the movies where she meets many that help propel her career further. She marries Juan Peron, the head of the Argentina’s military, and the two work hard and get him elected President. Now, Eva believes she is in a position to really help her people. Of course, the military and the rich upper classes take umbrage to Eva and do their best to thwart her. Sadly, disease takes her life at the young age of 32 but her legacy lives on in the hearts of Argentina. This fabulous production features the chorus in nearly every song as they represent the people of Argentina who keep Eva’s sanctified memory alive!
