Jez (England) and James (Canada) emerged on to the international acoustic music touring circuit in the late 1990s and, despite their different backgrounds and places of origin, have established a musical relationship that has lasted more than twenty years.

James Keelaghan, born in Calgary in 1959, is one of Canada’s international stars. His passionate mix of roots, Americana and contemporary folk has established him as a presence in Europe, Australia and North America. He has an uncanny knack for finding incredible stories and turning them into finely crafted songs. He is an engaging performer, developing an intimate rapport with audiences through his stories and sense of humour, leaving them spellbound with passionate renditions of songs that touch on universal emotions and relate historical events to the present.

Jez Lowe, born in Easington Colliery, England in 1955, is widely acknowledged as something of a national treasure on the UK folk circuit and beyond. He is one of the UK’s busiest folk performers, playing for audiences the world over, either solo (with guitar, cittern and harmonica accompaniment) or with his band The Bad Pennies. Over the years he has released over two dozen albums and the likes of Fairport Convention, The Dubliners, The Clancys and scores more, have queued up to adopt his songs for their own repertoires.
