Oscar's Hollow is an exciting new band in Saskatoon’s flourishing music scene. Formed in 2016 by Lee Harris and Kris Mihilewicz, two singer/songwriters who both move easily between rhythm and lead guitar, this 5-piece already boasts a rich catalogue of original material and stylized covers. Although Mihilewicz and Harris both have distinctive individual styles, these blend and synergize within Oscar’s Hollow in ways reminiscent of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo). The group's sound evokes comparisons to The Band or perhaps Wilco, spanning a broad spectrum of styles and genres as Harris and Mihilewicz are joined by Kurt Burnett on drums and percussion, Darryl Dozlaw on keyboards and other sundries, and Byron Shaw on bass and guitar. Burnett, Dozlaw and Shaw all offer vocal harmonies to the mix.

DRFTR is the one-man creation of singer/songwriter/guitarist Oscar Anderson-Shortt. His soaring, soulful voice is tinged with R&B; his songs honest, intimate and from the heart. His music is best described as feely folk - all about emotion. From lost love to sharp political commentary with all life’s gritty and joyous bits in between, DRFTR taps into our common emotional landscape in a deeply thoughtful, melodic way.

What began as a way to maintain a bit of sanity, of making sense of the things happening in his world, has evolved into a rich and diverse repertoire. Drawing from experience – growing up in small town Ontario, working the oil fields of Alberta, living in a South African village – DRFTR has created a portfolio of thoughtful, memorable and inspiring music.

His indie rock style has matured over the past 10 years, reflecting the influences of musical heroes Etta James, Hey Rosetta, Anderson Paak, John Mayer and Tom Misch. He has played alongside Craig Cardiff, Abigail Lapell, Jeremy Fisher, Jim Bryson and Claire Coupland, opened for Beth Moore at The Cameron House and headlined In the Soil Art Festival.
