Storytellers Night is a platform for voices of the community to share the stories that make them who they are.

Each event focuses on a variety of themes including entrepreneurship, creativity, adventure, relationships, and life lessons.

Storytellers Night was created with the intention to inspire people to engage in meaningful conversation.

Storytellers Night: The Power of Music features three individuals sharing stories about how music has not only influenced them but shaped who they are as people.

Here's what's happening:

SPEAKER LINEUP // Del Suelo

Erik Mehlsen is a Saskatchewan-based author and musician. He has won a Juno with the Dead South, and a Western Canadian Music Award with the Andino Suns. Erik is the brainchild behind Del Suelo, a project combining literature and music, with a highly anticipated new release due out in September 2018. Erik is will sharing a story on what led him to producing music combined with literature.

SPEAKER LINEUP // Walter Ernest

Walter is a Music Production & Engineering graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was an assistant engineer at the world-renowned MSR Studios in New York City where he worked with major label artists including Usher, Nicki Minaj, J-Cole, Paul Simon, Disney, Broadway Cast Recordings & Jimmy Fallon. He has toured with Trifecta YQR performing in prominent music festivals both nationally & internationally. He is currently a staff sound engineer at Blue Door Recording studios. Walter will be sharing a story about the three elements that make a song a hit.

SPOTLIGHT INTERVIEW GUEST // Karley Parovsky

Karley Parovsky is a violin/fiddle teacher and performer located out of Regina Saskatchewan. Growing up, Karley studied violin through the Conservatory of Performing Arts which set her roots in the realm of Classical music. She has been performing with the Regina Symphony Orchestra for the past 18 years. The Conservatory is now her home base where she has been teaching for the past 10 years. Karley is the head of the Conservatory based Child/Parent string program. In this position, Karley is able to mix her passion for music with community building. Karley is also a co-creator of Viva Violins, an organization which provides musical education during the summer months. Viva Violins gives young violinists a chance to explore various styles of music including classical, Celtic, Blues, Métis and Pop.

For Storytellers Night: The Power of Music, Karley will be interviewed by host Ashley Kilback on how music has influenced her life and her desire to teach children music.

Two individuals will take the stage to share stories, an intermission will take place, and then host Ashley Kilback will interview a special guest followed by a Q&A. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite HERE
