This years National Indigenous Peoples Day includes the Indigenous Battle of the Bands where four great bands will be performing for prizes! The bands include: The Reckless Famous, Fire Water, Young Country, and Jeff Cappo & the Cappolettes. Each band will get a 30min performance to wow the crowd and judges with prizes going to all the bands! The event is FREE and part of a day of great activities for National indigenous Peoples Day! 

Circle Project, Indigenous Christian Fellowship & REACH have partnered once agin to plan this year’s 21st Annual National Indigenous Peoples Day Mamawinitowin Mocikihtawinihkewin – ‘Our Community Celebration. This years celebration will be an action packed day filled with free family fun for people of all ages. 

Cultural activities will be planned throughout the day which will include starting the celebration off with a grand entry ceremony, traditional dance demonstrations and performances, traditional hand games and lacrosse demonstrations. As always, there will be the cultural activities tent with fun interactive activities and information to highlight Indigenous culture with chances to win prizes. 

There will also be the Elders’ tent which is a special place for our community Elders to relax, visit and enjoy entertainment and activities. Elders’ will also have the chance to win prizes. 

Family activities are planned throughout the day that include arts and crafts, carnival games, and inflatable bouncers and face painting. Families and friends will also have the chance to have their photo taken as keepsake to take home! Also hosting a community barbeque during the supper hour!
