Opener - Kirby Criddle

Over the past few years, Ben Rogers has firmly established himself as Western Canada's "dark troubadour", a classic storyteller with "a voice like smoke-damaged velvet soaked in bootleg whiskey". With a third album in the works, Rogers and his 4-piece band are setting a new course melding the cosmic Americana of Wilco, the folk haze of Kurt Vile, and the psychedelic fuzz of Neil Young & Crazy Horse to take their unique brand of Americana to new dimensions.

The band consists of some of Canada's finest musicians including Matt Kelly (City and Colour) on pedal steel and keys, Erik Nielsen (Dralms, Rich Hope) on bass, John Sponarski (Aaron Pritchett) on lead guitar, and Leon Power (Frazey Ford) on drums. Their performance is engaging, energetic, and memorable. "The man's dark charisma is something you need to experience live to fully appreciate," writes The Georgia Straight, who included him in their Best of Bands 2013 following the release his critically acclaimed debut Lost Stories: Volume I.

Rogers' latest single, "The Highway Of Tears", is a sample of things to come from the seasoned songwriter. Dedicated to the missing and murdered Indigenous women of Turtle Island, proceeds raised from the sales of the single will benefit Indigenous Women's programs at the Battered Women's Support Services in his hometown of Vancouver. His campaign has taken him from living rooms and barns to prestigious venues along the Highway of Tears and throughout Canada. The song also captured the attention of City and Colour's Dallas Green, who performed the song with Rogers to two sold-out crowds in BC.

The band has just finished productions on their third album with Dallas Green producing.
