Red Moon Road and Nick Faye & The Deputies
- March 24, 2018 - Doors at: 7:30pm / Showtime: 8:30pm
The Blenders Music Series is pleased to host the Red Moon Road on Saturday, March 24 at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Live, Red Moon Road has a bigger presence than one would expect from a trio and incorporates impeccable three-part harmonies and subtle technological wizardry. Red Moon Road masterfully creates a tapestry of song, storytelling, and spontaneous repartee.
These three collaborative and distinct writers frame immaculate songs with original and innovative instrumental work. The music becomes just as compelling as the lyrics.
The Winnipeg based, folk trio Red Moon Road was formed in 2012 by Daniel Jordan, Sheena Rattai, and Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner. They released their third album “Sorrows and Glories” in the fall of 2015. These three collaborative and distinct writers frame immaculate songs with original and innovative instrumental work. The music becomes just as compelling as the lyrics.
Nick Faye and The Deputies have that good ol’ Canadian sound down – think Ryan Adams fronting a prairie-based Arcade Fire.” – NXNE (Toronto, ON)
Nick Faye & The Deputies are a band from the deepest depths of the Canadian Prairies (Regina, SK). They make music that sticks to your ribs, like a big plate of perogies and sour cream. In Summer 2017, Faye completed his first European tour and the band has finished recording a new album with Juno and Polaris winning producer Michael Wojewoda (Barenaked Ladies, Buffy Saint Marie, Amelia Curran). The new album will be released in Spring 2018.
The band has shared the stage with a mix of notable artists such as Arkells, July Talk, Andy Shauf, Shad, Rah Rah, Elliot Brood, Library Voices, Northcote, Colter Wall, and Close Talker. They have performed at high profile festivals in the USA, the U.K, and Canada including Regina Folk Festival, BreakOut West, Folk Alliance International, FOCUS Wales, CMW, NXNE, and JunoFest.
Tickets for the Saturday, March 24 show are $35 and are available at Pharmasave (Swift Current). Doors at the Lyric Theatre will open at 7:30pm and the music will begin at 8:30pm.
