The pride of Flat Lake, Alberta has already reached a place very few other Canadian country music artists have attained, but defying the odds has been Brett Kissel’s mission his entire life, the result of a tireless work ethic instilled while growing up on his family’s farm. The numbers say it all: His JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist marked the first time in 17 years a country act earned the honour. That accolade seemed a lock for Kissel, despite some stiff competition, as it came on the heels of five Billboard Canada Top 10 singles including Started with a Song, Raise Your Glass, and 3-2-1. And that’s not to mention his staggering eight Canadian Country Music Association Award nominations, of which he won two.
Guylaine Tanguay, a French country star from Quebec, is joining Brett Kissel on his “We Were That Song” tour in January of 2018. She will be performing 6 dates in Saskatchewan on Brett’s 50+ date tour across Canada.
Alberta’s newest up and coming country sensation Dan Davidson exploded onto the Canadian country scene in 2016 with the release of his second single “Found” (Co-written by Clayton Bellamy of The Road Hammers). Dan became arguably the indie story of 2016 as his single “Found” rocketed up the charts and he became the #1 charting indie artist in Canada.
“Found” was the #1 selling Canadian country song in Canada for several weeks in July and August 2016. It had also #16 on the charts and was the 8th highest charting Canadian song in the country. The hit single also went top 50 on the Shazam charts across all formats and hit #15 on the iTunes sales charts. On just his second release ever in country music – he has a GOLD single.
Gaining more than 25 years in the business, the singer, Guylaine Tanguay, has built a name for herself and a strong credibility in the world of Quebecois country music. Thanks to her immense talent, her perseverance and her contagious energy, she is now one of the most sought-after artists in her province.
Having had the chance to work in close collaboration with numerous big names in the American country music scene, she presents on stage her repertoire of country music. She has accumulated seven albums throughout her career, the latest being ‘Mon livre vert’, which is still classified among the bestsellers in Quebec.
