WHALE & THE WOLF

“Our goal is to immerse fans and new listeners into the world of Whale and the Wolf.” Reveals guitarist Brandon Yaggey, “We’ve created a sound that is intimate and electric, and imagery that pulls you deeper into what the band’s about. In 2017 we strive to make that much more front and center at our live performances, as well as how we present ourselves as a whole.”

About 4 years ago, Vocalist Ryan Maier, guitarist Brandon Yaggey, along with Bassist Lucas Holt, formed Whale in the Wolf in Edmonton Alberta. They assembled their unique Alternative Rock sound through the desire to create something not so obvious. In 2015, the self titled 6 song EP was released. The songs pulled you in emotionally, while packing a heavy punch throughout.
During the first week of it’s release, the EP reached #14 on the iTunes Rock Chart.

Through touring and the release of 3 singles, Whale and the Wolf were played on a number of Radio Stations across Canada (“Do it Loud”, “Domino”, “Shiver”) All songs broke into the Top 40. However, “Domino” smashed through Regina’s airwaves at (ironically) The Wolf FM, where “Domino” would became a TOP 10 played song.
The songs would also be selected by Canadian music curator – Alan Cross” as part of his weekly TOP 11.

2016 saw the band doing it right, by hitting the road. Whale and the Wolf has opened for acts such as Bush, City and Colour, Wolfmother, Awolnation, Mother Mother, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bleeker, The Lazys, The Wild!, One Bad Son, Theory of a Deadman, etc.
They closed off 2016 writing and recording 3 new songs with producer, Danny Craig, of Default.
Now W&TW is set to release these singles throughout 2017. Each song will be released individually with it’s own multi-media package representing each song.

Brandon Continues, “We picked the 3 songs that best encompass us as a band. The songs travel through a spectrum of the band’s overall vibe. Each one with it’s own distinct sound, yet when packaged together they compliment each other quite well.
The music, the artwork, our live show, and the videos for these songs are all tied together aesthetically. Although the artwork is quite similar in style through each song, we chose colours and imagery that best captured and connected with the music.”

THE VIDOS

THE V!DOS (Vancouver BC). The band, whose average age is 20 years old, collaborate with producer Danny Craig (One Bad Son, Whale and the Wolf, The Classy Chassys) to create a new wave of energetic, fuzzy rock and roll.

So far in 2017 the band has played two opening slots at The Commodore Ballroom, for Live Nation Presents Age of Electric, and Live Nation Presents Daniel Wesley. In between these two shows the group played a direct support slot, opening for The Pack A.D at CJ's in Kamloops. Currently the band is in the studio recording a new record, which puts them on course to drop the first single towards the end of the summer.

The Vidos had a number of noteworthy shows in 2016, including a few performances at CMW and opening slots with bands like Pop Evil, JPNSGRLS, and PRISM. They dropped the single "CAR TROUBLE" to radio in early October, featuring spins at CIFM Kamloops, POWER 104 Kelowna, C-JAY 92 Calgary, X-92 Calgary, THE BEAR Edmonton, THE DRIVE Red Deer, KRZQ Reno, & several others. They also scored regular rotation at THE WOLF Regina. At the same time "Car Trouble" hit the airwaves, they released the music video, directed by Dave Benedict (Square Egg). The release was well-recieved, resulting in the band independently charting to #39 on the Canadian active-rock charts.

JOHNNY 2 FINGERS

"Right now, there’s a guitarist from Moose Jaw who might be the saviour of Saskatchewan guitar rock. And he’s missing a bunch of his fingers…. Johnny 2 Fingers & the Deformities take their cues from southern-fried boogie rock and infuse it with a boozy belt of punk rock for good measure.” - Ominocity.

PORT NOISE

Port Noise is a hard rock band from Regina, Saskatchewan. Having met through various friends and former bandmates, Port Noise consists of Angus Livingstone on bass and vocals, Andrew Strilchuk on guitar and vocals, Andrew Brandt on guitar and vocals, and Chris Johnston on drums/percussion. With all four members influenced by entirely different genres and bands ranging from Green Day and Breaking Benjamin to Atreyu and Disturbed to AC/DC and Guns 'n' Roses to Dream Theater and U2, Port Noise creates a very unique sound in and of itself. Forming in 2008, Port Noise has been a strong part of the local music scene since releasing their debut album in 2011, As Lies Bind, and has regularly played at McNally's Tavern, the Exchange, the Club, the Gaslight Saloon, the Artful Dodger, and the German Club, as well as several shows at the Distrikt before it's closure, as well as traveling out of Regina for shows, playing in Yorkton, Saskatoon, Regina Beach, and Radville. The sky is the limit, and Port Noise does not intend on coming back down.
