Anthony Kelly can paint you a picture with words. He is an artist, and his craft is songwriting. The last decade had Anthony Kelly as the front-man of the award winning country band, Shifty Morgan. Gaining valuable stage experience as both a musician and singer, Anthony’s talent was recognized by the Canadian Country Music industry, earning the band a CCMA award nomination in 2004 for Independent Group of the Year. 2004 also celebrated Anthony’s talent as a songwriter, when he received an invitation to appear on the elite panel at the CCMA Songwriter Café. Branching from his songwriting success, Anthony began co-writing with many up-and-coming, and established artists and songwriters. And in 2005, was awarded the SCMA Song of the Year award for “Because I Want To”, recorded and released by singer Marny Duncan-Cary.   Anthony’s first solo radio single “You Belong Here” also won him the award for 2006 SCMA Song of the Year. Much inspiration for his writings have come from Anthony’s life in small town Saskatchewan. You can find an Anthony Kelly song on many recent CDs by many recognizable artists such as Donny Parenteau, Marny Duncan-Cary, Amy Nelson, Chris Henderson, Alex Runions and Kal Hourd.
