With workshops covering studio basics, mixing, recording (both live bands and individual instruments), drum tuning and live sound, there's something for anyone who wants to better their craft in music. We keep class sizes small so that everyone can be as close to the action as possible and be guaranteed to have their questions answered. Workshops are often only a day, an afternoon or a weekend, so it's not a huge commitment to make.

    Live Sound 101 | Learn the Fundamentals of Live Sound

    On December 21st, 2024, Live Sound 101 will give a limited number of students the opportunity to learn to set up and run sound for their own band, at church or anywhere else, We will discuss all the basics needed to set up a stage and run an event as efficiently and professionally as possible.

    In this workshop, we'll set up a small PA system and run sound for a live artist in the room. We'll set the monitors so that the artist can hear themselves and then get the best sound we can out of the PA. We'll cover all the equipment you'll come across in a typical live scenario.

    We'll also cover all the preparation needed before a show or event to ensure you have all your bases covered and will never be without the right cable or accessory.

    What You’ll learn:

    - Analog & digital mixers
    - Signal flow
    - How to make a small room sound great
    - How to mix monitors for musicians
    - How to use EQ to eliminate feedback
    - Microphones, cables and DI boxes
    - EQ & compression
    - Best practices in setting up a PA
