Description

Bread Jones is a moniker of mine that I have been using since 2015. I've been into performing music since I was 12. I started recording music back in 2015, but have been getting seriously into it since late 2021. I dive into an assortment of different genres which include Pop Rock, Heavy Metal, Folk Rock, Alternative Rock, New-Wave and an assortment of other genres. I've released 5 studio albums since the beginning of late 2021 and have just announced the release of my 6th studio album Pathways which will hit streaming sites come February 2nd. This venture is a diverse mix of Folk, Orchestra, World Music, Heavy Metal, and New-Wave. Every chance I get with each studio session I always challenge myself to try new sounds, but staying dedicated to a consistent lyrical theme in my lyrics which involve alot of personal existenstial topics. Other topics in my lyrics would involve trauma, mental health, and searching for one's self in the world.

Aside from that, I lead my own backup band called Bread Jam which consists of myself on vocals and guitar, another on bass, and another on drums. We also perform covers which include Classic Rock from the 60's & 70's, New-Wave from the 80's, and Alternative Rock from the 90's. We performed out first gig at Tapps in Yorkton on December 15th, opening up for another local outfit named Prairie Revolt. We plan to get ourselves out as much as we can.

Release of Bread Jones 7th studio album "Silence in Paradise"

    May 23, 2024

Bread Jones is releasing his 7th album "Silence in Paradise." It has been a busy year for this artist, exploring the different range of sounds that influence him. With 'Silence in Paradise', Bread Jones has explored a 70's Glam Rock influenced sound which is attributed to his tastes in bands/artists like T. Rex, Slade, and David Bowie. Also explored on this album are influences from 90's Alternative which was Bread's first musical influence.

"Silence in Paradise" details a journey as a youth, going about life as a child or adult, but limited to what a person can enjoy once they hit a certain age and how society looks at them. The album originates from a place of childhood trauma in which an individual is traumatized and spends most of their childhood surviving rather than enjoying it. It results in a person growing up with a very stunted emotional growth; they exist in an adult's body but still act out on their childhood nature because that part of them hasn't been lived as much as it should.

In the title track on this album, Bread is saying that we still can enjoy parts of our childhood as adults, but societal norms sometimes tend to shun it or tell us "we're too old" to enjoy those things. "Act your age" being a common phrase. Other tracks like 'Prairie Rain' touch on another theme that Bread has explored on previous albums with tracks like Prairie Night or Prairie Sky. A musical approach to being proud of the province he exists in.

Aside from the deep nature of the title track, Bread seeks to put out a record to which people can enjoy and tap their feet. Hence one of the tracks, entitled "Bread Jam", is all-around a song intended to get everyone up and moving.

70's Glam Rock pioneers T. Rex have been a favorite of his for a very long time, and he feels that it's an important sound to pop music that has slowly been forgotten over time. He wanted to try to capture that same feel-good energy that singer Marc Bolan would always provide to his fans, with songs like Bang a Gong (Get it On), or Metal Guru. Moonlit Night and Boogie On Quinn are examples on this album of Bread trying to recapture that energy in the 70s, even though he wasn't alive then.

Bread's new album explores the deep understanding of one's self and where their behaviors come from. Bread hopes everyone will enjoy his new record, for it's here just in time for the summer season.

    Moonlit Night by Bread Jones

    March 29, 2024

Bread Jones has released "Moonlit Night", the 2nd single off of his upcoming 7th studio album. The album so far reflects a very strong Glam/Pop Rock sound with hints of Orchestral and Grunge elements. Preceding the release of this song was the single "Boogie On Quinn", also from the upcoming album. Influences from bands like T. Rex, David Bowie, Nirvana, and Slade are prominent within the music. "Moonlit Night" is a Glam Rock song showcasing Bread's love for 70's Glam Rock, like T. Rex for example, a band that is very prominent within that area of music. Moonlit Night was written one cold winter night while listening to T. Rex's critically acclaimed Electric Warrior album. From there, a few other tunes were written within the same vein as Moonlit Night. It's a sound that Bread feels isn't so prominent within popular music anymore and he feels it's something he could help revive. The song can be found on Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, Spotify, and Deezer.

Bread Jones to Release New Single

    March 6, 2024

Bread Jones is releasing his latest single on Friday, March 8th. Promoting his upcoming 7th album. Boogie On Quinn reflects a very strong 70's Glam Rock sound. Influenced by the likes of T. Rex, David Bowie, Slade, and Mott the Hoople. A song about spending time with the aforementioned name Quinn and getting their dance on set to a beautiful night. The lyrical content reflects alot of the feel good, Saturday night vibes that famous Glam Rock songs explored like Get it On, Born to Boogie, or Precious Star. Boogie On Quinn is a precursor to what Bread Jone's 7th album will reflect once he releases it in full. The album is giving 70's Glam Rock a huge acknowledgment in a modern fashion. One of many sounds Bread Jones loves experimenting with.
