Description

Beau Nectar (formerly Marie-Clo x éemi) is the unlikely collaboration between two bilingual singer-songwriters separated by miles of forests, rivers, mountains and meadows. Marie-Clo, Franco-Ontarian, and éemi, Fransaskoise deliver intimate, vibrant and surreal electronic pop with eco-feminist lyrics that arouse their fans' empathy for nature.

While competing in the final stage of the Planète BRBR competition in 2017, the artists make a secret deal: to share a portion of the grand prize, regardless of who the jury crowns the winner. Thus, the two artists come out winners. This is what gives them the strength to pursue their solo careers independently for a few years, while continuing to fuel the growth of this forest they have just planted.

The Franco-Ontarian multidisciplinary chameleon Marie-Clo decides to plant a garden: following the success of her first French-language EP Faune , she plants another, her first full album, this time mainly in English: Shell(e) which was released in three EPs in 2020 and 2021. With international recognition, Shell(e) topped many national charts (Sirius XM, Stingray, Radio-Canada, etc.), won album of the year with the Capital Music Awards and a Trille Or for her single Red Flag .

The tireless Fransaskois bee, éemi, collects nectar from several flowers to make honey. She also released Honey , her debut EP, which received nominations at the Western Canadian Music Awards, the Saskatchewan Music Awards and the Gala des prix Trille Or.

In 2022, their forest is dense and mature. With the support of MusicAction, the CAC, the CAO, OMIC and the Conseil culturel fransaskois, Marie-Clo and éemi enter into symbiosis via Beau Nectar. Their songs personify flora and fauna, draw inspiration from modern science, and showcase co-evolution; their friendship.

  • Buds

'Buds' celebrates the intimacy and playfulness of women’s friendships with this energetic pop indie-electro single. Beau Nectar sings in a unique bilingual French which reflects how the two artists speak in an informal context, as francophones living outside of Québec. The song encourages any 'budding' friendships to be foolish and bite into that platonic love.
This song was recorded at Breakglass Studio and produced by Jace Lasek.
