While attending University of Saskatchewan as a graduate student in Philosophy, Gillian worked with the Tri-Council Grant Proposal Development Services. Duties included general and technical editing of grant proposals and developing lay & media summaries for university faculty. Gillian has also facilitated writing workshops (academic), music workshops (writing, jazz and vocal performance), she has juried several times with Saskatchewan funding organizations, and Canada Council For the Arts, and has been working professionally as a musician for twenty years.
