Regina, SK

Born & raised in Regina, Val Halla has followed her passion for music to both Vancouver & Nashville in the last 15 years, which has lead to playing hundreds of shows all across the U.S. & Canada.  Sharing the stage with legendary artists like Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, Burton Cummings, Street Heart, and Eric Burdon of the Animals, she has been recognized by her elders as “carrying the torch” and has worked hard to develop a unique guitar style all her own with a hard focus on strong songwriting.

She has been featured in both Guitar Player and Guitar World Magazines, and to date has released 4 studio albums & 1 live album.  Val Halla cites Canadian artists like Neil Young, Hawksley Workman, The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, and Joni Mitchell as songwriting influences, as well as inspiration from rock legends Led Zeppelin and Rage Against the Machine.

    March 2017

Val Halla returns with her third studio album, part of a larger 30-song project that took the better part of four years to complete. This is the first part of the collection to be released, self-produced by Val in homes, apartments, offices, studios, & one log cabin. The record leans heavily on the side of grungy guitars, rock n’ roll grooves, and touch of the blues, but leaves room for a few slightly more vulnerable ballads. An all-star cast graces the liner notes and slay performances on the tracks, with co-writers including Jay Semko (The Northern Pikes), Sheena Rattai (Red Moon Road), and Nashville veteran Matt King. Recorded at: various spaces across Canada. Produced by: Val Halla.
