Mandy Ringdal’s distinctive voice and heart-felt lyrics paint the picture of the woman behind the song. Through song, Mandy shares her fears and her pain; her words are thoughtful and provocative, the emotion searing and raw. But messages of unyielding hope and an irrepressible spirit also weave through the song reflecting the strong, vibrant woman behind the words. Mandy has only recently began her career in music. After years of feeling unsettled, a life-changing cancer diagnosis brought her back to music. She taught herself to play guitar and began writing songs about 3 years ago. In 2012, she began recording her first demo, and recorded her first EP, titled “A Glipmse” in 2013, and followed up with her second EP "Love Knows" in December 2014. Mandy received an SCMA nomination for "Roots Artist of the Year" in 2015, and her song "Love Knows What to do" made it to the semi-finals in the International Songwriting Competition.
In June 2015, Mandy released her 3rd EP titled "Fight the Fight". The EP contains three original songs that show a new side to Mandy's songwriting and vocal ability. Her first single "Nostalgic" reached #2 on DMDS downloads on its first day.
Mandy has released 4 songs to radio to date with air time at stations across the country. Her song "Alive at 25" garnered her a CMT music video grant in November 2013. YouTube views to date have reached over 17,000. Her single "Love Knows What to do" was played by 33 stations across Canada, and she is hoping her newest single "Nostalgic" will top that.
Mandy plays solo acoustic as well as with a band. Her songs are a mix of originals, and fun upbeat modern country. She has deep country roots, but an edgy rocky sound finds its way into her vocal repertoire.

Mandy Ringdal's most recent single "Bobby's Drums" off her latest EP "Fight the Fight", was released to Canadian country radio on April 18th, debuting in the DMDS top 5 downloads in its first day, and continuing to gain momentum into its first few weeks.
The song was written by Mandy in tribute to a friend and hired man on the family farm who passed away in a snowmobiling accident. Bobby was a drummer in his younger days, and he and Mandy had talked about starting up a band. This unfortunately never happened before Bobby passed away. His actual set of dusty drums is used in the music video, and his wife and son make an appearance in the video's closing scenes. With sweeping views of the prairies and beautiful cinematic shots depicting the story behind the song, Strike Films captured the essence of the tribute to a friend who passed away too soon. The video was funded by the local grain terminal, Gardiner Dam Terminal in Strongfield, SK. The song's video can now be viewed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ByCQli6Zow
