Katie Miller is a prairie soul storyteller. Drawing inspiration from the land, sky and human spirit, Katie crafts her folk rock/pop songs into stories and tells them with an honest voice. Katie’s album features an assortment of flavors: laid-back summer songs, upbeat kick-up-your-heels tunes, soulful ballads, and raw emotional-driven music.
Katie’s first release on the album, “Prairie Sea,” paints a portrait of summer on the prairies and was featured as the theme song for Embrace Theatre’s (Saskatoon, SK) family production that toured Saskatchewan’s provincial parks in the summer of 2014. “Prairie Sea” was recently posted on SoundCloud and received great feedback: Taron Cochrane, Saskatchewan music commentator tweeted, “Local Music Find of the Night: Hum along to the harmonies & harmonica,” and “Thank you for a song that I could listen to 9 times on repeat tonight!”
Recorded at Blue Door Recording Studio in Regina, SK, Katie Miller had the opportunity to have the incredibly talented local band, Evan Chambers And The Third Alarm play on her album. Byron Chambers (bass), Evan Chambers (guitars) and Eric Mazden (drums) amped up her creations, giving her songs an energy that makes you want to turn up the volume.
Katie Miller is currently booking shows across the prairies to promote her debut album.
