Country duo The SISTERS is made up of singer-songwriters Penny Lee Stenberg and Connie Day. They released their debut album “Night & Day” in 2001, garnering 4 Saskatchewan Country Music Nominations. The SISTERS recorded their second album “Reride” in January 2014. Their songs resonate strength, determination, faith and love and a touch of humour.
Reride was recorded at Touchwood Studios in Regina. Grant Hall engineered the 10-song album, which involved the following musicians: Chris Sutherland. Toronto (drums); Curt Chobot, Regina (bass); Ken Burton, Regina (guitar); Jonathan Yudkin, Nashville (fiddle); Mat Dauzat, Los Angeles (electric acoustic guitar); Kristian Alexandrov, North Vancouver (keyboards); Jeff Bradshaw, Rocky Mountain House (pedal steel guitar); TJ Silljer (electric guitar: Hard Habit); Russell Pahl, Nashville (steel guitar); Chris Krall, Regina (background vocals).
Penny sings the lead on the majority of songs while Connie sings most of the background vocals. Both woman are songwriters and co-write together whenever possible. Connie lives near Kyle, SK, and manages the business aspect of their partnership, Honour Music. Penny is responsible for live performances, promotional material, works closely with our web designer and maintains their domain at www.sisters.ca.
SISTERS have been performing for almost 15 years. During those 15 years they have created 2 CDs, performed at several different functions, and attended both CCMAs and SCMAs during which many important contacts were made.
