Catherine’s natural talent is accented by her authentic passion for her craft. As a singer/songwriter, her songs come honestly growing through the lens of her prairie roots, her friends, family and faith.
Catherine has worked with some of the world’s best musicians and songwriters through her emerging career, including a duet with international recording artist Dierks Bentley at Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon. Bentley recognized Lewans’ talent when they spoke before the show and, much to her delight, invited Catherine to perform “Long Trip Alone” as part of his encore.
Her inspiration for her debut record ‘Kickin’ Up Dust’ came from her experiences growing up on a farm outside Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and the heart-breaking loss of a friend who passed away suddenly. Lewans completed her debut album “Kickin’ Up Dust” in December 2009 (Digital Media Alliance). The album has been warmly received by radio and has also lead her down the road to a 2011 SCMA ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ award.
Catherine is excited to have the opportunity to write with some great Canadian and Nashville-based writers as she works towards her newest project for release in 2012. Lewans is ‘kicking up dust’, with a steady touring schedule that has audiences raving about her smooth, sincere vocals and striking command of the stage.
