Little Miss Higgins Nominated For Two Maple Blues Awards
SaskMusic congratulates Little Miss Higgins on receiving two nominations for the 13th Annual Maple Blues Awards, in the categories of “Entertainer of the Year” and “Female Vocalist of the Year” (Jolene Higgins).
The Maple Blues Awards is Canada’s national blues awards program. Its goal is to promote blues music across Canada, and to recognize outstanding achievement in the field. Blues fans are invited to vote online now until noon on December 13 (EDT), www.mapleblues.ca.
Winners will be announced at the awards gala on January 18, 2010 at Koerner Hall, Toronto ON. Koerner Hall is an intimate and elegant hall opened in September 2009 with 1140 seats and state-of-the-art acoustics. Danny Marks, host of BLUZ FM and David Gogo, Cordova Bay recording artist, will host the gala.
Maple Blues nominees are selected by a distinguished panel of some 40+ blues experts, including includes radio hosts, journalists, and festival organizers regionally distributed across Canada.
