Program Manager
Full-time, Permanent

SaskMusic is a member-based, non-profit association that represents, promotes and develops the commercial music industry of Saskatchewan. We work to bring Saskatchewan music to the people of our province, Canada, and the world. We assist those working in music in all genres from all across Saskatchewan, and collaborate with a network of partners across Canada.

The position of Program Manager, under the supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of SaskMusic programs.

This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, challenging and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, great organizational skills and is a self-starter. We are looking for someone to join our team who shares our passion for the arts and is committed to helping Saskatchewan music thrive.

This is a salaried, 35-hour per week position, however, frequent evening and weekend work, and some travel, will be required.

Duties include:

  • Development of programming including education and professional development programs and events;
  • Management of the Export Development Program;
  • Create and develop strategic partnerships in the community and music industry - locally, nationally and internationally;
  • Assist in applications for project funding; prepare and work within budgets for assigned programs and events;
  • Review, evaluation, reporting and revision of programs as required;
  • Collaborate on program development with other team members;
  • Organize and facilitate juries for various adjudications;
  • One-on-one consultations with members regarding career development, funding applications, and other areas of the music industry;
  • Large and small event co-ordination including international showcases and other SaskMusic events;
  • Represent the association professionally to the public and within the music industry on local, provincial and national levels;
  • Various office duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and/or background in the music industry;
  • Good understanding of business and marketing plans and music funding options;
  • Great interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communications skills (phone etiquette, professional behavior when working with the public);
  • Familiarity with budgeting and accounting procedures;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Commitment, initiative, responsibility, flexibility, effectiveness, and the ability to work well under pressure;
  • Ability to maintain the professional standards of the association.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Certificate in a music or arts administration program or minimum of three years’ experience working in the music industry in some capacity;
  • Experience in the non-profit world would be an asset;
  • Grade Twelve diploma required;
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required;
  • Must be bondable.

Pay scale: $40,000-$45,000 plus benefits package

Administrative Assistant

The position of Administrative Assistant, under the supervision of the Regina Program Manager, handles front desk reception for our Regina office and provides membership support as well as is the first point of contact for the public; handles general clerical functions and provides administrative support to other staff and the board; and assists with program development and the delivery of our varied services.

This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, challenging and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate is committed to providing excellent customer service, has effective computer skills, and is an organized self-starter who has experience performing traditional clerical functions. We are looking for someone to join our team who shares our passion for the arts and is committed to helping Saskatchewan music thrive.

This is a salaried, 35-hour per week position with benefits, however, the flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends would be an asset.

Duties include:

  • Front desk reception and customer service
  • Processing of memberships and correspondence
  • Website and database updating (training provided)
  • Office filing and organization
  • Management of office systems and procedures
  • Assisting with delivery of communications
  • Assisting with news gathering, research, preparing reports, and fact-checking
  • Assisting with member calling, promotions and outreach
  • Providing event assistance such as venue setup, registering attendees, etc.
  • Working with the team as needed to facilitate SaskMusic’s work in general on a wide variety of projects
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience with non-profit organizations would be an asset.

Pay scale: $26,000 annually
