SaskMusic will be announcing a number of projects around International Women's Day, in March 2022. Stay tuned for more!
1) Online Co-writing Event, intake deadline February 17, 5pm
SaskMusic presents an online co-writing event as part of our International Women's Day activities for 2022. The intent is to provide a forum for songwriters to exercise their co-writing skills, collaborate with individuals outside their known peer group, and have a fun, inspiring weekend.
For this project, twelve songwriters will be selected and organized into groups to co-write. Each group will be matched with a mentor to help them through the process.
Those chosen for this event will also participate in opening seminars about co-writing and generating song ideas, plus group sessions to allow for networking.
Songwriters applying for this opportunity must:
- Be available online from 10am-5pm on March 12, and 1-5pm on March 13
- Have written at least 10 songs. Previous co-writing experience is not required.
- Be willing to enter into co-writing agreements for songs created during the event
- Agree to be photographed/recorded during portions of the event for our reporting purposes
Songwriters of all genres, experience levels, ages and abilities are encouraged to apply. Saskatchewan residency is not a prerequisite.
If we receive more than 12 applications for the spots, a selection committee will choose participants.
Presented by SaskMusic, with support from FACTOR Canada and Creative Saskatchewan.
