Canadian Music Week Announces Scotiabank Arena Bursary Program

Deadline: April 30, 2024

Canadian Music Week, together with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), is proud to announce the return of the Scotiabank Arena Bursary Program, which will be granted to 15 aspiring music industry professionals in 2024. In an effort to continue introducing new talent into the live entertainment industry, this program aims to break barriers and provide an avenue for live music's brightest aspiring executives to participate in Canadian Music Week for the first time. Participants will learn more about this ever-growing and changing industry and build their network.

"We are thrilled to once again partner with MLSE for the chance to welcome young professionals to Canadian Music Week," said Neill Dixon, President of Canadian Music Week. "Through this initiative we are creating a legacy for corporate social responsibility where sponsors and partners can propel promising candidates to become the next generation of industry leaders."

Each Scotiabank Arena Bursary Program recipient will receive a 2024 Canadian Music Week Music Summit Conference pass which allows them to sit in on a variety of educational discussions and meet a diverse cross-section of members in the music community in an effort to accelerate their network and career path. They will also have direct access to relevant MLSE representatives at an exclusive industry professionals meet and greet function through one-on-one meetings in the CMW Conference Mentor's Café. Each recipient will also experience the Live Music Industry Awards show where they will mingle with members of the live music community and see first-hand how a live production operates. This is a unique opportunity to share knowledge and ideas and to build new contacts within the industry.

The Scotiabank Arena Bursary Program is open to Canadian resident applicants and encourages applications from equity-seeking groups. To apply for the Bursary Program, applicants can complete the application form online to explain who they are and why they want to attend Canadian Music Week. Details of all successful applicants will remain strictly confidential.
