The song is a continuation of the theme of love and loss found on Highwind's independently released "Final Words" (released in Feb 2023). The video flips that on its head and features the 4 members playing in a local comic and video game shop dressed as their favourite Dungeons and Dragons characters. 'Open Road' is a song written about the life of a rambler living out of a suitcase. Wade & Chord Fehr are a father son duo based out of Lily Plain, SK. The video was recorded on the rural roads near their home directed by Wade Fehr. Track was recorded in their home studio and produced by Wade.
